How is your summer going? I've just returned from about a month away and am looking forward to catching up with all of you and your wonderful work. I've spent the day attempting to recover from jet lag whilst going through photos and scanning film. It's quite a big and overwhelming job (but a fun one, of course!) and I am sure to inundate you soon with all sorts of images. In the meantime, here's the latest knitting update.
In London I had the immense pleasure of spending weeks snuggling my cousin's absolutely darling daughter Maisie (who is constantly smiling) and getting to see her enjoy the log cabin I made for her before she was born.
Since I had lots of yarn left over from the blanket, I decided to make her this dress. I used the pattern for anouk as a dress but then decided it needed to be spiced up a bit with a stripey pocket.
And then a pocket simply isn't complete until it has a little bunny puppet to carry around in it.
I was also lucky enough to be in London when handelovely gave birth to her adorable son Harry Hilmi. Years ago she'd given me this rainbow stripey Trekking XXL yarn and I'd been saving it to make something for her baby Love someday (their last name is actually Love if that isn't adorable!).
I started off attempting a sweater with it but didn't like the way it was pooling. Then I found the most irresistible of buttons in Germany
And with that I am almost caught up with my baby knitting... just one more mystery project before launching into the fall/winter knitting season. Exciting!
How is your summer going? And what are you knitting lately? I'm excited to catch up and see!
