through this summer's comings and goings, many lovely visitors, bc3d-related hoopla, and trying not to melt in this summer's insane heatwave, i have finally finished my mitered crosses blanket:
the pattern is mitered crosses by kay gardiner (rav link). kay sold this pattern to raise money for earthquake/tsuanmi relief in japan, and to date pattern sales have raised over $16,000 to donate to mercy corps!
i love this pattern, but i love it even more when i think about all the good it has done. hooray for knitters with a cause!!
you may recall that this blanket is a housewarming gift for my sister and her family, and soon it will be making its way to omaha to live with them.
so while the pattern itslef did so much good to help those in japan, i am hoping, that in its own small way, this blanket will bring goodness and love (and definitely some family snuggle time!) to its new recipients and their new home.
