two more gifts to check off the ever-shortening list of gifts to make in my holiday sweatshop this year.
first up is a crocheted merida amigurumi doll (pattern by sahrit freud-weinstein - rav link) for miss lillian. she's been asking me to make this for her for months. so while it won't really be a surprise i definitely know she'll be excited to receive it!
i think i was supposed to trim up her hair a bit, but i spent so long on it i was loath to cut any of it off. plus i kinda like that excessive curly red hair look.
in keeping with tradition (and also keeping that tradition on time this year) i made lily another rock with a hat:
i love rock with a hat, it's funny *and* fun!!
and yes kate, i posed him with my ceepy vintage squirrel just for you!
how is every one else's gift making progressing? getting close to finished?

Huh. Definitely creepy squirrel, not sure rock cutie can help even. I'm slightly disturbed now....
Moving on....
That amigurumi doll is gorgeous!!!
As to my crafting, one sock left to complete for my mum's third pair and a scarf for my sister-in-law, but she won't be here until Dec 27. So I'm feeling pretty stress-free at this point!

First, I'm confused. Why is that squirrel creepy? What's wrong with Kate? Second, the one thing I do agree with Kate on is that the doll is gorgeous! That hair is amazing and I definitely think no trimming is necessary!!
Last night I finished up the final gift for my family and that feels good. Didn't do near as much as I wanted but I'm okay with that. Just means I have a start on next years! I still have to finish one knitted hat for my friend and a rag quilt for another friend. Maybe will do that today but both know they won't be mailed until after xmas!

Awww, she's beautiful! I LOVE her unruly orange/red hair! It is fitting for her brave character. Lily will LOVE her, too!
Love the rock hat, one of these days I've got to make one, too :) What with my rock fascination & all.
I'm with Rachel, what's with Kate and the creepy squirrel?? lol I don't think he/she? looks creepy.

Love the Merida doll. Hope you didn't cut the hair. It looks wild and perfect for riding around the Highlands. Can't help smiling at the hatted rock. Cute and ever so odd!

Love the way Merida turned out! Her hair looks fantastic! That hat is super cute on the rock too. :)

rocks with hats is such an adorable tradition. do all the rocks live together somewhere?
