along with lily's teacher gifts last week's embroideryfest produced gifts for two very special families in my life.
it's pixel family!! the patterns came from a tutorial on martha's website, and i customized them to make my friend's family. this was a lot of fun to make!
this is the family tree embroidery pattern from cozy blue's etsy shop. i really want to make another one of these for my family.
not to be left out, lily made a hoop of her own:
her class is studying ancient china in school and she came home last week all excited about yin-yang. when brian asked her what she was going to do with her embroidery she looked at him like it was the silliest question in the world and answered, "hang it in my room because i'm turning it into a hobbit hole."
duh.
i love that girl (how she managed to include taoism, tolkien, and snowflake bling into one 4" embroidery hoop is beyond me).

I can't stand the awesomeness of Lily!
I want to come visit her Hobbit hole...because as we all know a hobbit hole equals comfort.
All the stitchings turned out fantastic! Lucky recipients!

i have adored that tree ring family embroidery pattern ever since i first saw it. love, love, love. you definitely need to make one for your house. the cross stitch is adorable, too. i really like cross stitch on linen. is it special linen so you can see what holes to choose? or do you use a transfer? or do you have magic embroidery powers. probably the latter.
and lily is a genius. i need a hobbit hole, too.
