i'm currently working on three projects, and as luck would have it, they're all birthday presents!
up first is a crochet owl hat (pattern by sarah zimmerman - rav link) for my niece who is turning seven.
up next is a hoarfrost cowl (pattern by anne hanson - rav link) for a good friend who is reaching the milestone four-oh birthday this year.
and lastly, i'm getting a jump on lily's birthday sweater for this year. it's a tiny dancer jr. (pattern by nicole montgomery - rav link). the fact that it's a sweater for an 8 year old girl using fingering weight yarn has "inspired" me to start earlier than later and give myself lots of time to meet that feb. 17th deadline.
and oh yes, that's sparkle in the yarn! this *is* a sweater for lily afterall!

oooh, sparkly red yarn that's really thin!! You're brave.
All looking lovely, though, and nice for you that each is so different.

It seems wrong that you just left the xmas sweatshop to start sort of a birthday sweatshop! However, all the projects look great...even if one is a tad bit sparkly! ;)
