I love your pop of neon green! Is the inner circle supposed to be a bit wonky because it is more conical in shape around the trunk?

I think Rebekah may be on to something. It says in the description that there are extra stitches in the granny squares so that it will lay flat. All may not be lost. I was going to say that it could be a frilly tree skirt instead. Nice choice of colours too.

Mmmm... I appreciate both of y'all's support, but this is waaaay more wonky than a few "granny rhombi" can straighten out... I strongly feel that this is a lost cause.
I do thank you though for your love of the bright green... It makes me super happy too!

Oh Melissa, I feel your pain! I think I would block the life out of it and go for frills - they're very 'in' this year, you know! It's what all the well dressed Christmas trees will be wearing!

*If* you were to redo this...
I wonder if you take a section out if it would lie (lay?) flat?

Granny Grrrs are always made better with cookies and tea.
