I really wanted to make Sabrina a doll for Christmas. After scouring patterns on ravelry I went for tried and true Wee Folk Art Baby Doll, since I loved the gnome pattern so much.
I had three work trips last fall and figured all that travel time was perfect for christmas knitting.
The doll's body knitted up quickly on the first trip. It was the hair that I had problems with.
Putting it in was a major pain.
But with a less that stellar view I really concentrated on a full head of hair, no skimping here.
Unfortunately, I was a bit over zealous. The poor doll's head was pulled down by all that hair.
On the way home I pulled out hair. (This is the second handful I removed).
After a haircut...
...arms, a face, and a few outfits, she was ready to go.
Christmas morning was a delight.
Even my mother-in-law joined in the fun.
Sabrina just loves her doll.
She was a bit overshadowed by Sabrina's new unicorn. (Sabrina is on a big unicorn kick right now). Just in case it lasts, does anyone know of a good unicorn pattern? :)
