i finished the cowl i was knitting for my aunt and i can honestly say i couldn't be happier with the results. it is like a buttery cloud of kittens...
this cowl proves professor flufferton mcsoftypants' theorem of yarn combination, which states: (one skein lace-weight baby alpaca) + (one lace-weight skein 80% mohair 20% wool) = a gossamer mantle of chinchilla tails.
that's an honest to goodness equation, trust me, i studied math in college.
the pattern is the sanibel cowl by beth anne paustian (rav link) and it gives just the right amount of drape for what can only be considered the baby's butt of yarn combinations.
my hope is when my aunt dons this ethereal web of eyelash kisses she not only thinks about how much i love her but is transported to a springtime field where dappled rays of sunshine shimmer across a field of dandelion fluff...
have i convinced you that this cowl is soft? have i made you wish that you had one of your own?!?
well i have enough yarn left over for you to make yourself one!
as the saying goes, "the early bird gets the luxuriant pillow of baby snuggles..." so if you want the yarn be the first to leave a comment asking and i'll ship it out to you!
