reading: after enjoying reading the first wildwood book aloud, the family has decided to move on to the second book, under wildwood. you can probably see from the bookmark placement that we're not all that far along yet, but we are already enjoying being back with prue and curtis in the impassable wilderness.
as an aside i just have to talk for a moment about the illustrations in these books. they are amazing!! carson ellis has such a talent and a whimsical style that makes every drawing we come to a treat in and of itself! here's just a peek at a few from this book:
can you even stand it, how perfect they are?!?! i'd honestly buy these books just to look at the drawings!
crocheting: after the chart following and tiny needles of the frank lloyd wright mitts i am so so happy to report i am crocheting another zen circle blanket for bundles of joy. i'm using more of the vintage fluffy yarn i received from my friend's mother-in-law and following lucy of attic24's flat circle tutorial (as per my usual when making zen circle blankets). i am so happy to be spending these cold evenings snuggled up in front of the fire with my family, crocheting away while brian reads to us. no wonder winter is my favorite!
so spill it! what are y'all reading and making?!?
