I love a good red scarf! Nothing better to bring cheer to all who see it and wear it. Yes, I think sometimes a good children's book or young adult's is just the thing to get us re-connected to the words on a page and I do the same things when more "grown up" books don't hold my interest or capture my imagination.

I love thinking of those eight proud college students cherishing their fuzzy warm red scarves! These books you're finding for 'Lily' sound amazing! I am totally out of the YA loop- you'll have to update me when Mateo gets a bit older. :)

Great red scarf, I wonder if there is something similar here in the UK? I've just finished a load of gift knitting and sewing so am casting on another blanket. Hopefully I will get it done faster than the last one! When I get in a reading slump, I often re-read an old favourite, just to ease me back in. Michael Morpurgo is very popular here.
