a few more meetup pictures

i had to follow up lindsey's post with a few pictures of my own, i hope you don't mind indulging me.

the first night after we got the girls in bed we sat down to knit and something just didn't feel right... until we pulled up a picture of claire.  it wasn't the same as having her with us, but it was nice to get to see her beautiful face.

and the rest are just gratuitous photos of our girls... because they're so darned cute and so sweet and fun.

lindsey - thank you so much for coming up to visit.  it was a wonderful weekend - my only complaint (well except for the fact that clairey wasn't with us) is that it went too quickly.  come back again soon!!

mel-mel meetup - mankato in march

i was blessed the past three days by a visit from my dear friend, the lovely and talented melinda from quirky granola girl.  it was a wonderful visit, full of crafting and fun and a good movie and daily trips to the coffee shop and laughter and lots of girls scout cookies (in place of our usual crafting fuel: nutella).

isn't she adorable?  you know, she's more than just a pretty face - she's a crazy-talented crafter extroidanaire!

and what was i doing while melinda was making all these amazing quilt blocks?

i was rippling... and stacking states.

my dear melinda - thank you so much for including a visit with me on your spring break itinerary!  i had such a lovely time with you - i hope we get to do it again soon!

the mel-mel meetup v2.0

i had the extreme pleasure of hosting melinda, aka the quirky granola girl, and her completely adorable son henry in mankato this weekend.

we spent some time out of doors enjoying the fall minnesota weather but, as you might suspect, we spent the majority of our time being crafty together.  there was of course, some knitting but there was also a lot of sewing.  melinda has recently started quilting again (and she is amazing) and brought her sewing machine and a bunch of fabrics so we could play.

here she is being a total supermom seamstress!  i'm going to save the project we worked on together for it's own blog post because it is so awesome.  (i still have to finish it though, so it could be a little while.  trust me when i say it will be worth the wait.)  but melinda didn't hoard her sewing fun up just for me - she also helped lily make a number of little projects.

here they are being adorable and team sewing - lily is in charge of the foot pedal while melinda does the steering.

ta da!  they made a pin cushion!

most of the rest of my pictures are of henry, because seriously he is so cute i couldn't stop taking his picture.

thank you so much for coming to visit me melinda!  i had a fabulous time and i hope we can do it again soon!
