lily's first day of kindergarden was a huge success!  this morning she was an adorable combination of nervous/excited as we walked over the bridge (her school is called Bridges) and into her new classroom.

when i picked her up she was bubbling over with excitement and stories from her day (including getting to have recess in the first graders' room because it was raining and getting to read three stories, one about a cat who when to school!!)

she can't wait to go back tomorrow and i just couldn't be any prouder of my wonderful kindergardener!!

ps- those of you wondering what i did with my day?  i spent a good portion of it at a coffee shop knitting a dishcloth.  heh heh - what else did you think i would do?

looking back before moving forward

tomorrow is the big day - lily's first day of kindergarden!

our house is full of excited energy and lily seems to be the perfect mixture of excitement/nerves.  i thought it fitting if today we took a moment to pause and look back at her other first days of school, from her last two years at montessori.

Well, it's official!

The last day has been put up on the chart

and we've officially reached the end!

Hooray for the end of Kindergarten!  And double hooray for the beginning of summer vacation!

I'd like to let out an official huge sigh of relief!  What a year it was! Phew!

I'd also like to send out a huge apology for being so completely out of the blog loop for so so long.  I've got so many things on my plate these days, I've been forced to take a bit of a blogging hiatus.  (Unfortunately) this hiatus will extend for at least another month as (fortunately- woo hoo!) I am leaving the day after tomorrow for a month-long visit to my family and friends in Europe. 

Despite my negligent behavior, I have really been missing checking in with your work and your updates!  Please know that I think of you and wish you all well!

A special shout out to snoopydog, josiekitten and all the other teachers out there! Congrats on making it to the end!
