i have taken the blankie plunge (rav link).
after claire started her beautiful blanket she has been, shall we say, kindly encouraging me to start a blankie of my own.
a start date of february 18th was set, and i diligently cast on.
since wednesday i have been completely obsessed! picking out the yarn for the next little square and knitting it up is very satisfying and far more fun than you would think it should be.
i can't stop making squares!
now lest you think that i just go around willy-nilly letting claire boss me into starting huge knitting projects, let me tell you this one has been in the works for a while (meaning i do let her boss me into starting projects, but there is nothing willy-nilly about it). i was plotting at both christmas and my birthday to get beautiful mini skein sets from sunshine yarns.
and lastly, and most importantly, lest you think that claire actually is bossy and a bad influence, know that, well, actually she is bossy (but i like it), and i have never been happier to be influenced to start a huge and seemingly never-ending project.
so, "thank you claire!" i am so glad that we're going to be blankieing together!
you know, lindsey, this means you're the only one in the sandwich not making a blankie..... think about it and let me know if you want me to sic claire on you!
-melissa
listen, lady- what kind of reputation are you giving me?
truth is, i only boss you into doing things that are brilliant ideas which will enrich your life and make you endlessly happy.
and i am THRILLED we are now blanketing together!
lindsey, you watch it because i got my bossy eye looking in your direction

Those mini skeins are adorable. I'd be happy to dig through my sock yarn nubbins and send them out to you if you are interested. I have some cute KPPM from baby bootie projects. I was going to try one of those blankies, but I just have to admit that it won't work for me.
