i am diligently working away on a tip top secret project that can not be mentioned publicly until it is in the hands of the recipient. it is a big, time consuming project and i am trying hard to focus and get it done as quickly as i can, but the other day i cracked. i needed a quick distraction.

enter the bucket hat by stephanie oltmann (rav link). it was just the thing i needed - quick (i got the hat crocheted in a single day) and completely adorable.

although not quite as adorable as the adorable recipient. (can i get distracted for a moment and just comment on how grown up she is looking? goodness, i am at a loss.... where did my baby go?)

okay, back to the hat! i used dishcloth cotton that i already had in my stash and i'm really happy with how it turned out. i'm thinking i need to make a coordinating one for my niece who's coming to stay with us for a couple weeks next month. wouldn't rainbow-hatted cousins be completely adorable?

I love the hat and I totally agree...they grow up way too fast.

Rainbow-hatted cousins would just be too adorable for words. But pictures would be good :)
Don't talk to me about grown-up babies.

That's such a cute hat! It's perfect for summer because it looks like popsicle colors. I was just thinking that there hadn't been too many Lily pictures on here lately...she really is starting to look grown up!

That's one beautiful girl you have - no longer a baby for sure! I love the hat too... although I don't know how to crochet... I found your blog through ravelry - the fishy washcloths are on my queue.
