lily's birthday sweater was finished a little over a week ago (if you haven't noticed i'm behind in the reading and writing of blog posts). i let her pick the pattern (salsa by chris de longpré (rav link or pattern), the yarn (berroco comfort dk) and the color (lavender). none would have been my first choice, but seeing how much she has worn the sweater in the past week i must concede that there was wisdom in letting her choose.
because it's not my sweater, it's hers. and she loves it, and that's what matters.

Yes, it is for her. Now hurry up and cast on for yourself. :)

Lovely cardigan - the colour is perfect for Lily, and the ruffles make it so pretty! Can I take it from your comments, you won't be making a matching mother-daughter set?!

That's such a pretty, girly cardi. Lily looks lovely in it! She obviously a girl who knows her mind ;-) Ros

Cute cute cute. I like a child who knows their mind. (I have to remind myself of that sometimes, but really I do!)

that sweater looks just right on her. the ruffles really are darling, and you are a good gifter to finish items that you don't really want to make. speaking of which, i need to go make my mom's Christmas present...3 months late.

Purple ruffle wearin', ballet twirlin', Lily! Oh how I love the combination! And such a good mom for letting her pick the color, yarn, and pattern even if it didn't suit your tastes...oh how I wish my mom were so generous back in the day! ;)
