joining up with ginny at small things for the weekly yarn along:
reading: mocking jay by suzanne collins - brian and i are about half-way through the final installation of the hunger games trilogy. and oh goodness things are heating up!! if brian and i weren't reading this together i totally would have stayed up half the night last night finishing the book!
crocheting: an andalucia skirt (rav link) for lily. i love how quickly crochet goes - i began this project only monday and already have made quite a bit of progress. i'm loving the fan pattern too - it's very zen-inducing and soothing to knit. (or crochet, as it were.)
what are y'all reading this week?
-melissa

I'll be interested to hear how you thought Mockingjay ended. It wasn't my favorite of the three, but she ties it all together very nicely. I really like the pattern of the skirt. I wonder how it would translate for a blanket? I'm making blankets with my stash.

The temptation to read through the night. I've been there. Definitely a sign of a good book. Your crocheting is amazing. I now have a fresh appreciation of all things crocheting. Can't wait to see this skirt finished!

I am reading the The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake, by Aimee Bender and also The Invisible Gorilla (and other Ways our Minds Deceive Us) by Christopher Caleb.
Love the look of that skirt. A skirt for me is on my "some day" list.

I read all three books in five days! It was addictive, for sure. Right now I'm re-reading The Year of the Flood by Margaret Atwood, my favorite author of all time.

I bet you are done with Mockingjay by now...what did you think of the final two books in the series? I couldn't put them down but have to admit that the first was my favorite.
I just finished a book called The Secret Scripture which was slow at first, but in the end I was fascinated by the story.
And oh, I hope that as I make my way through your posts, I'll see more of that skirt...so adorable!
