Mini Murals

We have been seeing these murals pop up on utility boxes all over the neighborhood for months.

Sabrina and I love looking out for them when we are out and about.  This one is my favorite so far. 

I thought a box hunt would be a fun way to learn about following a map.

I went online and and discovered it is a much larger project than I thought, it spans the whole city of Houston!

 This may just be the first box hunt.

The project is constantly expanding.

We have been reveling in the quintessential spring Texan stuff going on here recently.

Rodeo

Yes, that is a small child riding a bucking sheep.  No, Sabrina didn't participate.

This ride was more her style

We also reveled in the explosion of bluebonnets

We are enjoying being ....deep in the heart of Texas.

Water baby

Memorial day weekend is the official opening for Houston's public pools. We decided it was the perfect time for Sabrina to try out her new pool too. 

She absolutely loved it.

The azaleas are blooming everywhere you turn.

Our citrus trees smell amazing

Bluebonnets are poping up

Even the cacti are blossoming

Everything and everyone is growing beautifully!

Mapping Main Street

When I heard about the Mapping Main Street project on NPR I knew the sandwich had to hop on board. 

"Mapping Main Street is a collaborative documentary media project that creates a new map of the country through stories, photos and videos recorded on actual Main Streets."

We are all about collaboration here at the sandwich. - And lucky to live near such lovely main streets.
